Liverpool Independent Film Festival is a truly independent film festival, committed and dedicated to showcase the works of both new and established international and domestic filmmakers from the world of independent cinema. The organisation is proud of its honest and transparent roots and is committed to selecting films purely from open submissions.

Run time of over 60 minutes
British Director or Writer or feature a mainly British cast or be set in the UK.

UK NARRATIVE SHORTS

Run time of between 1 and 59 minutes.

 DOCUMENTARY FEATURES

Run time of over 60 minutes.

STUDENT FILMS

Any run time is accepted, short or feature. 
Must have been completed while attending a recognised film school.

ANIMATION

Any run time, short or feature

UNCOMMISSIONED SCREENPLAY

Any original screenplay of any length.

INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE FEATURES

Run time of over 60 minutes 

INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE SHORTS

Run time of between 1 and 59 minutes.

DOCUMENTARY SHORTS

Run time of between 1 and 59 minutes.

EXPERIMENTAL FILMS

Films can be any run time, short or feature. 
Must have a bold and original style in either visuals or storytelling.

MUSIC VIDEOS

No more than 10 minutes in length.
Can be for independent or established artist.

2017 SUBMISSION DEADLINES:

Please submit early to save on submission fees. Your online screener must be ready for viewing by the following dates to meet the respective deadline: 

9th November 2016: Super Earlybird Deadline
11th January 2017: Earlybird Deadline
12th April 2017: Regular Deadline
7th June: Late Deadline
19th July 2017: Extended Deadline
16th August 2017: Final Extended Deadline
