Liverpool Film Festival in association with the Everyman Cinema and Odeon at Liverpool One is delighted to announce the official selection for the third edition of the annual event.
Films from around the world will be screened over four days from the 31st October – 3rd November across the two venues with a line-up consisting of feature films, documentaries, short films, animation and experimental films and music videos.
Festival highlights include the world premiere of SEAGULL, which will close the festival and stars Jessica Hynes in a film about a woman returning to her hometown to settle unfinished business.
#NOJOKE, a documentary which follows a musician as he puts together a star-studded cast for a song to combat bullying and features Patrick Stewart, Jeff Goldblum, Lemmy and more.
Across the weekend there will be five sessions of short films that include stars such as Jack Whitehall, Anna Friel, Russell Tovey and Ben Whishaw.
Also included in the line-up is the opening night gala screening at the Everyman Cinema of the Lupita Nyong’o starring zombie comedy LITTLE MONSTERS, which will be having its North West premiere at the festival. The film has already garnered critical acclaim after screening at Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest and will be the perfect film to open on Halloween night.
Saturday of the festival at the Odeon at Liverpool One and will be called Docs Day, as all documentary films from the official selection will screen at that venue with Everyman continuing the programme of narrative features and short films. A highlight of Doc day will be the screening of Tommy Emmanuel: The Endless road, a biopic about one the greatest living guitarists and we are delighted to announce that Tommy will be attending the screening for a very special Q and A and live performance.
Docs Day will culminate with an incredibly exciting special gala premiere that will be announced in the coming weeks.
After a successful year at the Odeon in 2018 the festival is expanding to two venues with the addition of Liverpool’s newest cinema the Everyman Cinema, testament to the festival growth and development in just three short years. Situated in the stunning surroundings of the Metquarter the Everyman Cinema will be the perfect place to host this year’s narrative feature and shorts selection.
Director of Operations Neil Jeram-Croft says “our line-up this year is a fantastic showcase of film. We really have something for everyone, and we couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with both the Everyman Cinema and the Odeon to bring these films to the people of Liverpool. LIVIFF2019 is going to be a festival to remember.”
